The well being of each animal and overall herd health is the number one priority at Calera Ranch…
By combining traditional ranching methods with modern techniques, cattle enjoy balanced nutrition, receive important vaccinations and veterinary care, and are always handled humanely.
Starting a decade ago, John and Suzy had the idea to begin offering local direct to consumer natural beef to bridge the gap between farm and table. The increased public awareness of, and interest in, livestock welfare and environmentally sustainable farming practices allows small farmers and ranchers like John and Suzy to continue doing what they love; caring for the animals, protecting the surrounding environment, and providing quality natural beef to the community.
Each year, selected steers are kept and raised to maturity feeding on rich native grasses and cared for without the use of added hormones or antibiotics. These steers are then processed for beef at certified USDA facilities in California. John and Suzy offer their beef for sale locally to restaurants and individuals.
